Why Plant-of-the-Month?
POM activities are a cherished tradition among cactus and succulent societies, providing an excellent way to:

- Category Selection: Tips for choosing themes like genus, plant types, or unique characteristics (e.g., crests, variegates, or regional plants).
- Organization Tips: Roles for coordinators and strategies for maximizing participation, including newsletters, emails, and in-meeting discussions.
- Judging Criteria: Key factors like plant health, staging, and nomenclature, plus ideas for rewarding members across Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced divisions.
- Competition Structure: Point systems, division progression, and end-of-year awards to motivate participants.
- Resources: Sample entry forms and ideas for keeping the activity fresh and engaging.
