Affiliate Society Representative Checklist
If you serve as the Affiliate Representative for your club, use this checklist to stay up to date and keep your society connected with CSSA:
- Renew your membership through the JoinIt Member Portal
- Update your Public-Facing Information using the online form so your club’s details are current on the CSSA website and map
- Share the CSSA Affiliate Supporting Membership Discount Code with your members to encourage individual CSSA memberships
- Participate in Affiliate Rep Meetings to stay informed and exchange ideas with other societies
- Send CSSA your club newsletter so we can stay in touch and share your news in To The Point
- Affiliate Representatives are responsible for receiving the Affiliate Ballot (typically distributed at the end of August) and ensuring their club’s board or members are consulted before submitting the vote.

Through our Affiliate Partnership Program, we co-fund meaningful conservation and research projects—combining resources, expertise, and passion to protect rare and endangered species, support habitat restoration, and expand scientific understanding.
If your club is interested in collaborating on a conservation or research initiative, we’d love to hear from you! Together, we can achieve more than any of us could alone.

For A/V Volunteers:
The San Francisco Society has created a Facebook Group for volunteers who handle audio, video, or Zoom during society meetings. It’s a place to ask questions, share tips, post tutorials, and exchange technical know-how with others.

Did you know the CSSA can share your events on our website calendar? Simply send your event details to our Calendar Coordinator at: calendar@cactusandsucculentsociety.org.
We are also happy to share your events on our social media. Just email a JPG and the description of the event to cactusandsucculentsociety@gmail.com.

A group membership for our affiliate societies in the US and around the world
- To the Point digital newsletter published quarterly as a PDF, and available exclusively in your member portal
- Cactus and Succulent Journal – Two copies of each issue of our quarterly print magazine for advanced hobbyists and specialists
- Access to purchase from our Seed Depot (where available)
- 12-month membership term with optional automatic re-billing
- Affiliate accounts should use the mailing address where you want the Journal delivered. Leave first name blank, Society name in the last name field, with “C/O Name” info in the ADDRESS 2 field.
- Our new system requires a unique email address for each account. If your Affiliate account uses the same email as an existing member, please email us for assistance.
