Below is a letter recently sent to all CSSA Affiliate Society Representatives for distribution to their membership:
Dear CSSA Affiliate Society,
I am pleased to announce that this year’s 57th Annual Show and Sale will once again take place at The Huntington from June 28th to 30th. The Show & Sale will be in the Botanical Center Complex.
The Show and Sale will be Friday through Sunday, June 28th to 30th from 10:00am to 5:00pm. All members of the CSSA and its Affiliated Clubs are invited to participate in the Show. This is a one-class show. There will be NO sales, outside of show times, on Wednesday, June 26th or Thursday, June 27th and during vendor setup. Early sales are reserved for show volunteers and vendors before 10:00am on Friday, June 28th. All other club members, CSSA members, and the public must enter through the front entrance at 10:00am.
If you wish to attend the Show Dinner and Auction, which will feature a Texas-style BBQ chicken buffet (with vegetarian options) provided by Bon Appétit, the cost will be $40 per person. Please contact Barbara Hall by email (lbcjhall@aol.com) to make your reservations no later than June 21st.
The Show Schedule & Index is available on the CSSA website HERE. There will be more available at the Show. Entry tags will be available at some local clubs and at the show.
All volunteers, vendors, and show entrants will need to wear their club badges and will be given a Huntington wristband by the Show Chair, each day they are working. Free passes for this event will no longer be distributed in advance. Information regarding comped entry for CSSA members, not participating, will be forthcoming in June. Entry to the Huntington is by advanced online timed tickets for both members and the public on Fridays and Weekends, no walk-ins. Tickets can be reserved here.
Volunteers are needed to help with Show set-up on Wednesday morning, June 26th and all day during the event on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Show set-up will start on Wednesday morning from 9:00am to 1:00pm. Show plants can be entered from 1:00 to 6:00pm Wednesday, June 26th and 9:00am to 4:00pm on Thursday, June 27th. Tear down is at 5:00pm Sunday, June 30th.
Items are needed for the Rare Plant Auction on Saturday night, June 29th. Items can be entered as a 70/30 split or full donation. There is a 2-item limit per person or business to the auction. 35 items will be chosen for the Live Auction and the remaining items, with the donor’s permission, will go into the Silent Auction held during dinner. All Auction items must be submitted by 2pm Saturday, June 29th. All proceeds go to the CSSA Research Fund and the CSSA awards grants each year.
