New for 2026: Digital Voting

As part of the Society’s ongoing efforts to increase the number of members voting in the election, and to reduce paper consumption and eliminate the costs associated with printing and mailing ballots, the upcoming election will be conducted electronically.

On September 1, eligible* members and Affiliate Society representatives** will receive an email***, from the JoinIt member portal, containing a secure link to their ballot. The ballot will also be accessible through the CSSA Member Portal.

How do I make sure I am receiving my membership emails?

  • In your contacts, add “notifications@joinit.com” and “cactusandsucculentsociety@gmail.com”
  • Search for “notifications@joinit.com” in your Spam and Trash folders
    • If found, open the email and click “Report not spam”
  • Need more help? Contact our office for support.

What if I don’t see an email from the CSSA or JoinIt on September 1st?

  • Sign into the Member Portal to find the voting link there
    • Go to the above link
    • Click on the “View My Membership” Button
    • Log into the Membership Portal
    • Once you are logged in, you should see the VOTE HERE link at the top of the Membership Information page
  • Refer to the steps to the left
  • Contact our office for assistance

Voting opens September 1, 2026Ballots must be submitted by November 1, 2026

We encourage all eligible members to participate in the election and help shape the future of the CSSA.



* Standard, Life, Fellow, and Associate Members (from the same household) are eligible to vote in CSSA elections. In addition, each Affiliate Society is eligible for one vote per society.

** Affiliate Societies will receive an email to the email address associated with the membership account. This may not be the Affiliate Rep as some societies have their membership emails sent to someone other than the Affiliate Rep, for example the Treasurer. Affiliate Reps may want to Contact our office to confirm who receives their JoinIt emails.

*** Members who do not have an email address, will automatically receive their ballot in the mail. Any other members who wish to receive their ballot by mail should email their request to our office and a ballot will be mailed to them.
